ROLAND SCHEFFERSKI - KÜNSTLERISCHE STRATEGIEN ZUM KULTURELLEN GEDÄCHTNIS
Roland Schefferski wird 1956 in Kattowitz/Katowice geboren. Von 1971 bis 1976 besucht er das künstlerische Gymnasium in Breslau/Wrocław. Anschließend studiert er dort von 1976 bis 1981 freie Kunst an der Staatlichen Hochschule für Bildende Künste. 1984 siedelt er nach Berlin über, wo er seitdem lebt und arbeitet. Anfang der 1980er-Jahre wendet sich Schefferski der Objekt- und Installationskunst zu und arbeitet seit dieser Zeit in Werkzyklen. Roland Schefferski was born in Kattowitz/Katowice in 1956. From 1971 to 1976 he attended the artistic grammar school in Breslau/Wrocław. Following this, from 1976 to 1981, he continued his studies in the city by following a course in free art at the State College of Visual Arts. In 1984 he moved to Berlin where he still lives and works. At the start of the 1980s Schefferski turned to object and installation art and since then he has been working on cycles of work.
